The No. 14 Virginia women’s tennis team (8-2, 4-1 ACC) takes on Virginia Tech (3-8, 0-5 ACC) today at 1 p.m. on the new outdoor courts of the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort.

Due to health and safety considerations, in addition to the current guidelines for sports venues set by the Commonwealth of Virginia, attendance for UVA home men’s and women’s indoor tennis competitions will be limited to the family of student-athletes and coaching staff until further notice

STORYLINES


  • This is our first match in our new stadium after having to play both matches last weekend on the indoor courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club
  • Emma Navarro was named the ACC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season after going 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles (a 6-0 win against Notre Dame’s top doubles team)
  • The Cavaliers remained at No. 14 in this week’s ITA team rankings. Individual rankings in singles and doubles have not been updated since the preseason
  • Virginia leads the all-time series 40-5 and has won the last 24 meetings. Virginia Tech’s last win over UVA came on Oct. 18, 1997
