Virginia Plays at Pitt on Sunday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team (14-9, 3-9 ACC) travels to play at Pittsburgh (7-15, 0-11 ACC) on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Peterson Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

VIRGINIA NOTES

• The Cavaliers are looking to end a five-game skid. Pitt has lost its last 10 games
• London Clarkson scored a career-high 23 points on Thursday night at North Carolina. It was the third-straight game in which a Cavalier scored at least 20 points. Camryn Taylor had back-to-back 20-point games, scoring 20 points at Syracuse and 22 against Virginia Tech
• Clarkson’s 23 points was the second-highest single-game total by a Cavalier this season after Mir McLean’s 24 at Penn State
• Clarkson has scored in double figures in five of the last six games, averaging 15.1 points per game in that six-game span. All of those performances have come from off the bench. She has not started a game this season
• Taylor has scored in double figures in each of the last six games. She is averaging 16.6 points per game in that span
• Taylor grabbed her 500^th career rebound at North Carolina. She scored her 1,000^th career point at Notre Dame. Taylor scored 598 points with 297 rebounds in two seasons at Marquette before transferring to UVA
• Either Clarkson or Taylor has led the team in scoring in the last nine games
• McKenna Dale led the team in rebounding at UNC with nine boards, her highest total as a Cavalier
• In the last nine games, eight different players have led the team in rebounding
• Taylor Valladay had seven assists at North Carolina, the second-highest single-game total by a Cavalier this season. She also scored eight points
• The Cavaliers are third in the ACC in assists per game with 15.5
• Virginia is third in the ACC and 17^th in the nation in rebounding, averaging 42.7 per game. The Cavaliers are second in the ACC and 24^th in the nation in rebound margin at +7.8
• UVA is second in the ACC and 32^nd in the nation in three-point percentage defense, with opponents making 27.4 percent of their long-range shots
• UVA is participating in the 2023 Play4Kay National Free Throw Challenge.
