CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The Athletic’s Freshman All-America Team featured Virginia linebacker Kam Robinson as a second team honoree. Robinson has been named to three Freshman All-America teams.

The Freshman All-America teams recognized both the true freshmen and redshirt freshmen who made the biggest impact for their teams in 2023.

As a true freshman, Robinson made eight stats and appeared in all 12 games for the Cavaliers in 2023. He led all ACC true freshmen and ranked third among FBS true freshman in tackles with 71. Robinson added 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions and four quarterback hurries. He posted double-digit tackle efforts three times this season, including a 12-tackle performance against William & Mary. It was the most tackles by a UVA true freshman linebacker since Ahmad Brooks had 12 in the 2003 Continental Tire Bowl against Pitt. He led or co-led UVA in tackles five times. Robinson’s second interception of the season came at then-No. 11 Louisville which he returned it for a touchdown to tie the game at 14 in the third quarter.
