CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia (1-3) wrestling team hits the road on Sunday to close out the 2017 portion of the schedule in a dual meet at Bloomsburg (2-2) at 1 p.m. Bloomsburg will wrestle Lock Haven on Saturday before the match with the Cavaliers on Sunday.

Individual members of the program will compete in action on Saturday at the Cleveland State Open.

A complete recap of the day’s action at the Cleveland State Open, which begins at 9 a.m., will be available on VirginiaSports.com at the close of competition.

CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
The Cavaliers have four wrestlers in the national rankings heading into this week of competition according to InterMat Wrestling. Redshirt freshman Louie Hayes (Orland Park, Ill.) is ranked No. 16 at 125 pounds, while sophomore and returning All-American Jack Mueller (Dallas, Texas) is No. 5 at 133 pounds. Redshirt sophomore Sam Krivus (Greensburg, Pa.) is No. 19 at 149 pounds, while redshirt junior Will Schany (Blair, Neb.) rounds out the ranked wrestlers for UVA, coming in at No. 17 at 174 pounds.

Bloomsburg enters the weekend with an overall record of 2-2 and hosts nationally-ranked Lock Haven on Saturday before taking on the Cavaliers on Sunday. The two wins came against Davidson and George Mason, while the two defeats came at the hands of Appalachian State and Indiana.
