CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Atlantic Coast Conference competition begins on Friday (Jan. 19) for the Cavaliers as the Virginia (3-5, 0-0 ACC) wrestling team hosts No. 25 North Carolina (6-8, 0-0 ACC). The dual will begin at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gym.

Admission to all home Virginia wrestling matches is free to the public.

Fans who can’t make it out to Memorial Gym for Friday’s dual meet can keep up with the action through several different methods. CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
The Cavaliers have a pair of wrestlers in the national rankings heading into the Virginia Duals according to InterMat Wrestling. Redshirt freshman Louie Hayes (Orland Park, Ill.) is ranked No. 15 at 125 pounds, while sophomore and returning All-American Jack Mueller (Dallas, Texas) is No. 6 at 133 pounds.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE HOOS
Virginia competed last weekend at the Virginia Duals at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va. There, the Cavaliers wrestled three duals with matchups against Iowa State, No. 10 Arizona State and Fresno State. Virginia dropped a back-and-forth dual with the Cyclones before falling to the Sun Devils. On day two of the event, Virginia won 7-of-10 weight classes in the dual with Fresno State.

UP NEXT FOR VIRGINIA
The Cavaliers will return to action next weekend with a pair of duals on the road. Virginia starts the weekend in ACC competition at No. 6 NC State on Friday (Jan. 26) before stepping out of conference for a match at Old Dominion on Sunday (Jan. 28).
