CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia (4-9, 0-4 ACC) wrestling team closes out the dual portion of its schedule and the ACC slate on Friday night, traveling to Pittsburgh (3-10, 1-3 ACC) for a 7 p.m. dual meet at the Petersen Events Center.

CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
The Cavaliers have a pair of wrestlers in the national rankings heading into the weekend, according to InterMat Wrestling. Redshirt freshman Louie Hayes (Orland Park, Ill.) is ranked No. 15 at 125 pounds, while sophomore and returning All-American Jack Mueller (Dallas, Texas) is No. 9 at 133 pounds.

A LOOK AT PITTSBURGH
The Panthers of Pittsburgh enter the weekend dual meet coming off a victory over the Duke Blue Devils in the last outing. It marked the first ACC dual win of the season for Pittsburgh, which holds a 3-10 record on the season. Pitt’s three wins have come over the Blue Devils, then No. 18 Oklahoma and Cal State Bakersfield. The Panthers and Cavaliers both wrestled nationally-ranked Arizona State in the non-conference slate, with both teams dropping the dual with the Sun Devils.

Pitt has one nationally-ranked wrestler in the latest InterMat rankings with Dom Forys coming in at No. 11 at 133 pounds.

UP NEXT FOR THE HOOS
Members of the Virginia wrestling team will travel to Dover, Del., to compete in the National Collegiate Open on Sunday, Feb. 25. The tournament begins at 10 a.m. ET and runs throughout the day. It will be the final tune up for members of the team before the ACC Championships on Saturday, March 3, at North Carolina.
