Women's Rowing has Solid Performance at Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich.– The University of Virginia women’s rowing team won six of nine races against Michigan and Ohio State on Saturday (March 28).
Virginia’s varsity eight split races with Ohio State and Michigan. The Cavaliers defeated Ohio State by 21.4 seconds, but lost to Michigan by 10.7 seconds.
UVa’s second varsity eight defeated both Ohio State and Michigan. The Cavaliers defeated Ohio State by 21.5 seconds and beat Michigan by 7.6 seconds.
Virginia’s first novice crew defeated Michigan by 44.4 seconds and UVa’s second varsity four defeated Michigan by 33 seconds.
The Cavaliers’ first varsity four won its competition with a time of 8:28.6. Michigan was second (8:37.4), North Carolina third (8:48.4) and Ohio State finished fourth.
Virginia’s second novice crew lost to both Ohio State and Michigan. The Cavaliers lost to Ohio State by 20.1 seconds and to Michigan by 3.5 seconds.
Virginia returns to action on Saturday (April 4) when the Cavaliers compete against Massachusetts at Lake Monticello.
