Virginia Takes Two of Seven Races against Princeton and Yale

PRINCETON, N.J.— The Princeton women’s rowing team won five of seven races and the University of Virginia won two races in a regatta that also included Yale on Saturday (April 18). Princeton won the first varsity eight and the second varsity eight. In the first varsity eight, Princeton finished with a time of 6:54.8 followed by Virginia (6:57.5) and Yale (7:15.5). Princeton won the second varsity eight with a time of 7:08.4 followed by Virginia (7:11.4) and Yale (7:31.2).
Virginia’s victories came in the varsity four and the second novice eight races. Virginia won the varsity four with a time of 7:32 followed by Princeton (7:33.3) and Virginia “B” (7:44.4). In the second novice eight, UVa finished with a time of 7:17.1 and Princeton was second at 7:22.6.
Princeton won the novice four with a time of 8:36 followed by Virginia at 8:42.
In the first novice eight, Princeton finished with a time of 7:02.7. Virginia was second at 7:15.7 and Yale finished third at 7:18.3.
Princeton also won the lightweight eight with a time of 7:14.4. Virginia was third with a time of 7:25.7.
Virginia’s next competition is against Cornell and Brown in Ithaca, N.Y., on April 25.
