PRINCETON, N.J.—
The University of Virginia had four of the top five boats in the varsity four competition to highlight the UVa women’s rowing team’s performance at the Princeton Chase on Sunday (Oct. 25). Virginia boats finished first (16:35), second (16:51), fourth (14:17), fifth (17:18) and seventh (17:20) in the 45-boat event. Princeton was the only other school to have a boat in the top five with a third place finish (17:14).
Virginia’s varsity eight finished second to Princeton in that competition. Princeton won the event with a time of 14:37.17 and UVa was second with a time of 14:39.38. Michigan finished third (14:40.77) and Ohio State was fourth (14:44.8).
The Cavaliers finished third in the lightweight eight with a time of 15:55. Princeton won the event (15:39) and Villanova was second (15:48).
UVa won the women’s pair competition in the small boats race.
Virginia’s men’s club team finished sixth in the men’s eight competition. Princeton won the event and Yale was second.
