CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia boats finished first and second in a women’s novice eight competition with Georgetown University on Sunday (Nov. 1) at the Rivanna Reservoir. Virginia’s “A” boat won the competition with a time of 14:39 and the Cavaliers’ “B” boat was second with a time of 15:15. Georgetown’s “A” boat was third (15:29) and Virginia’s “C” boat was fourth (16:08) in the six-boat competition.
The UVa women’s rowing team competes in the Head of the Chattahoochee regatta in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday (Nov. 7).
The Virginia men’s club team also finished first in a novice eight competition with Georgetown. UVa’s “A” boat finished first with a time of 13:45 and the Georgetown “A” boat was second at 13:57. The Georgetown “B” boat finished third (14:08) and the Virginia “B” boat was fourth (14:32).
