Rowing Wins at Rivanna Regatta

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team won both the varsity eight and the varsity four competition in a regatta Saturday (Nov. 14) at the Rivanna Reservoir.

“We had a great day,” Virginia head coach Kevin Sauer said. “Our varsity eights and varsity fours performed very well.”

In the varsity eight competition, Virginia “A” finished first with a time of 13:22. Princeton “A” was second (13:45) and North Carolina “A” was third (13:48). Virginia “B” was fourth in the competition with a time of 13:52, while Georgetown “A” was fifth (13:57) and Princeton “B” was sixth (14:02).

Virginia boats finished first and second in the varsity four competition. Virginia “A” was first with a time of 15:25 and Virginia “B” was second at 15:47. Georgetown “A” finished third (15:48), North Carolina “A” was fourth (15:51) and Virginia “C” was fifth (16:13).
