PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Virginia won the novice eight competition on Sunday (Nov. 15) at the Belly of the Carnegie Regatta.

Each school entered two boats as close in speed as possible in the event and the combined times of the two boats determined the order of finish. Virginia’s boats finished with a combined time of 32:58 to win the competition. Cornell was second with a combined time of 33:13. Yale finished third and Princeton was fourth.

The competition concluded Virginia’s fall season.

“This was a fine way to end a great fall season for Virginia rowing,” UVa head coach Kevin Sauer said.
