Virginia Hosts Rowing Competition at Lake Monticello

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team will compete against Michigan State and California-Berkeley in a double-dual competition at Lake Monticello on Saturday (April 17). Navy will also compete against Michigan State and California.

The Radcliffe lightweight eight will compete against Virginia.

Virginia’s varsity eight, second varsity eight, lightweight eight and novice eight are all scheduled to compete in Saturday’s regatta. The Cavaliers’ varsity eight is currently ranked second in the nation, while California and Michigan State are ranked fourth and 16th, respectively. Virginia’s lightweight eight ranks third in the country and Radcliffe is ranked fifth.

Saturday’s competition is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. when Virginia races Michigan State and Navy competes against California. Afternoon competition begins at two o’clock with Virginia racing California and Navy competing against Michigan State.

Admission to the competition is free.
