Virginia's Meaghan Young Gains ACC Performer of the Week Award

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia softball player Meaghan Young earned the ACC Player of the Week honor by hitting .400 over the course of last week for the Cavaliers.
The first-year left fielder helped Virginia post a 4-1 record during the week. Batting in the leadoff position for UVa, Young scored four runs, recorded an RBI and hit a triple and double to go a long with four singles.
She has started 17-17 games for the Cavaliers, and is third on the team with a .320 batting average on the season. Young has recorded 16 hits, eight runs and six RBI to go along with her three doubles and triples at the plate for Virginia.
