PERTH, Australia – Lauren Gallagher (West Chester, Pa./W. C.Henderson/Duke) scored four goals en route to the USA’s 20-1 win over Japanand was named the Player of the Match. With the win, the Stars and Stripesown a 5-0 record and remain atop the pool standings with the perfectrecord. Captain Lauren Aumiller (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep/Universityof Virginia) also netted four goals and chipped in four assists.
The United States led 11-1 at halftime and limited the Japanese tothree shots on the game. Amy Price (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) playedin the cage and stopped two of the three shots. The USA took 37 shots andcontrolled 14 draws to dominate the game.
The team has tomorrow off and then will play England in the finalgame of the round-robin portion of play.
