TONIGHT’S GAME

Virginia enters tonight’s game against Florida State with a 13-7 over-allrecord. The Cavaliers are currently ranked No. 24 in the USA Today/ESPNpoll. Virginia’s Atlantic Coast Conference record dropped to 4-3 with a 71-68loss to No. 5 Duke on January 22.

The Cavaliers have lost their last two ACCcontests, but played a non-conference game on January 18 and defeatedRichmond, 83-76. Virginia lost to No. 20 Clemson, 87-71, on January 15.

Florida State enters the game with an 11-6 overall record and a 3-4mark in the ACC. The Seminoles currently have a three-game losing streak.Florida State lost at Clemson, 79-66, on January 21.

The Seminoles opened theseason winning 10 of their first 12 games, but have lost four of the last five contests.

Tonight’s game marks the 21st meeting between the two teams and theCavaliers lead the series, 20-0.

Virginia won both games played during the1999-2000 season. The Cavaliers defeated Florida State, 76-73, on January 9,2000 in Tallahassee, and defeated the Seminoles, 74-59, in Charlottesville onFebruary 10, 2000.

SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE

The Seminoles enter tonight’s game with an 11-6 overall record and a3-4 mark in the ACC. Florida State currently has a three-game losing streakafter dropping conference games against Wake Forest (79-69), North Carolina(75-62), and Clemson (79-66).

Three players are averaging double figures inscoring for Florida State. Junior guard April Traylor is Florida State’s leadingscorer with an average of 15.0 points per game, followed by senior forwardBrooke Wyckoff (14.7), and sophomore center Katelyn Vujas (10.9).

Seniorcenter Levys Torres is the leading rebounder with 10.0 per game.

Sue Semrau,currently in her fourth year as the head coach at Florida State, has led theSeminoles to a 39-61 record.
