CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team begins its spring season on Saturday (March 17) when the Cavaliers host San Diego State at the Rivanna Reservoir. Saturday’s competition is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
Last year, Virginia won the Atlantic Coast Conference championship and finished third in the NCAA Championships. UVa finished third in the first varsity eight, the second varsity eight and the varsity four at the 2000 NCAA Championships.
Virginia has finished in the top four in the team competition at each of the four NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships. UVa finished fourth in 1997, third in 1998, second in 1999 and third last year.
