CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 45 University of Virginia men’s tennis team travels to the state of North Carolina this weekend (Mar. 24-25) for a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference matches. UVa will play #42 Wake Forest on Saturday (Mar. 24) at 2:00 p.m. in Winston-Salem, N.C., before travelling to Chapel Hill, N.C. for a Sunday meeting with UNC. That match will take place at 1:00 p.m.
The Cavaliers currently own a 5-2 overall record and are coming off a pair of wins over ranked opponents Tulsa and Boise State at last week’s Blue Gray National College Classic. Virginia is 0-1 in the ACC after losing a close 4-3 match to Florida State on March 3 in Tallahassee, Fla.
UVa is 33-16 all time against the Demon Deacons, including a 5-2 win in Charlottesville last season. The Cavaliers are just 17-59 against North Carolina all time, but Virginia defeated the then 16th-ranked Tar Heels, 6-1, in the teams’ lone meeting last season.
