WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Virginia women’s tennis concluded play at the Deacon Classic at Wake Forest Sunday by winning a singles and doubles championship.
In singles play, first year Kyle Montgomery posted a 6-0, 6-0 win in the final of Flight D of singles. She lost only one game in three matches en route to the title. Fourth year Jen Tuchband and first year Lauren Bruch finished third in Flights A and B respectively. In doubles play, the team of Lori Stern and Montgomery won the B flight of doubles over teammates Kristen and Laura James in the final.
The Cavaliers will return to action as fourth years Henriette Williams and Tuchband compete at the ITA All-American Championships.
