Virginia Baseball to Host Charlotte 49ers on March 7-9 in a Three-Game Series

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia baseball team will return to home action on March 7-9 when the Cavaliers host the Charlotte 49ers in a three-game, non-conference series on Davenport Field at the UVa Baseball Stadium. Virginia (4-5) will face Charlotte (4-4) on Friday, March 7th at 3:00 PM; Saturday, March 8th at 2:00 PM and Sunday, March 9th at 12:00 noon.

Virginia is 2-0 at home after recording back-to-back wins over James Madison (3-2) and the U.S. Naval Academy (12-1) on March 4th and 5th, respectively. Charlotte is 1-2 on the road after falling to Elon (7-0) and defeating Furman (7-3) before losing to Wake Forest (8-7).

UVa’s RHP Jeff Kamrath (1-0, 2.61 ERA) will get the call to start on the mound for the Cavaliers on Friday, March 7th. The Cavaliers’ RHP Chris Gale (0-1, 4.35 ERA) is scheduled to start on Saturday, March 8th and Virginia’s LHP Mike Ballard (0-1, 0.77 ERA) is slated to start on Sunday, March 9th.
