Virginia’s Kiamesha Otey jumped over 6 meters in the long jump at the NCAA Championships today but did not advance to the finals, finishing in 10th place overall with a leadp of 6.05m (19′ 10.25″). Otey, who took 5th at last year’s meet, also competed in the 60-meter dash tonight in Fayetteville and ran 7.40, which did not advance her to the finals. Otey won the USA Championship two weeks ago in the long jump, leaping 6.33m (20′ 9.25″) to become a national champion.
Virginia’s Eliese Mitchell will represent the Cavaliers tomorrow (Mar. 15) in the weight throw.
