Virginia’s Barber Finishes 19th At NCAA Zone Qualifying Meet

AUBURN, Ala. – University of Virginia first-year diver Andrew Barber (Vienna, Va./Marshall) finished 19th on the one-meter board, while fourth-year Alison Sharp (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock) was 31st in the women’s three-meter diving competition Friday (March 14) at the 2003 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at Auburn University’s James E. Martin Aquatics Center.

In his first appearance at the NCAA Zone B Regionals, Barber scored 259.20 points in the preliminaries of the men’s one-meter diving competition to finish 19th, just one place shy of advancing to the finals.

In her fourth NCAA Zone B Diving meet, Sharp finished 31st on the three-meter board with 232.50 points.

The Zone B Diving Regionals continue Saturday (March 15). Sharp will compete in the women’s one-meter competition, while Barber will dive from three meters in the men’s competition.
