CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia will host Brown University at University Hall on Wednesday, March 19, in the first round of the 2003 National Invitation Tournament (NIT). Game time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for youth age 18 and under and UVa students. Seating is general admission.
Virginia enters the game with an overall record of 15-15, while Brown is 17-11 on the season. Brown is a member of the Ivy League.
The invitation is the 10th for UVa to the NIT. The Cavaliers have compiled an overall record of 13-7 in the NIT and won the tournament championship in 1980 and 1992. UVa lost to South Carolina 74-67 in the first round of the 2002 NIT at University Hall.
Ticket sales will begin at the Virginia athletic ticket office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium at 9:00 a.m. on Monday (March 17). Tickets can also be ordered by telephone by calling 1-800-542-UVA1.
