This Saturday, April 5th, the Virginia Men’s Lacrosse team takes on the North Carolina Tar Heels in a key game at home. The Cavaliers, currently 5-2, have been working hard to prepare for this match-up.
“We’ve had a hard week of practice,” said Assistant Coach David Curry. “We’re coming off of two disappointing losses and we’re trying to get on the right track. The team has worked really hard this week and we’re ready to go.”
Out of the last 60 meetings between Virginia and the Tar Heels, the Cav’s have walked away with 37 wins. Virginia has had plenty of success at home against the Tar Heels, winning 17 of 29 games in Charlottesville. Although last season’s 10-9 win came on the road, Curry believes the team is ready to take on the Tar Heels here at home.
“North Carolina is a big rivalry. If we work hard, picking up ground balls and playing the game with lots of intensity, we’ll do well against them,” Curry said.
Saturday’s game is also Brine Day. The first 500 fans will receive FREE Brine lanyards and there will be other contests and prizes provided by Brine Lacrosse. The game begins at 1:00 PM at Klockner Stadium, gates open at noon. Tickets will be on sale one hour prior to game time at Klockner Stadium Ticket Gate. Regular admission is $5 for Adults and $3 for Seniors, Youth, and UVa Faculty.
