Moses And Raab Help USA Win Duel In The Pool Vs. Australia

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Virginia volunteer assistant coach Ed Moses (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) and second-year swimmer Michael Raab (Rockville, Md./Walter Johnson) helped Team USA defeat Australia 196-74 in the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool Sunday (April 6) at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI. Moses swept the breaststroke events and swam on the winning 400 medley relay, while Raab placed third in the 200-meter butterfly.

Moses led a one-two USA finish with a winning time of 1:00.29 in the 100-meter breaststroke. His time was just eighth hundredths of a second shy of his own American record. Moses went on to sweep the breaststroke events by taking the 200-meter breast with a time of 2:10.49. The time was only 33 hundredths of a second off Mike Barrowman’s American record. Moses wrapped up an outstanding meet by swimming the breaststroke leg of the United States’ winning 400-meter medley relay (3:34.24). Moses recorded a time of 59.89 in his 100 breast leg.

In his only event, Raab helped the USA earn a top-three sweep in the 200-meter butterfly with a personal-best time of 1:58.29.
