On the acknowledgement of our outstanding coaches:
Patrick,
We have a number of outstanding head coaches at UVa. This year Coach Groh was selected the ACC’s Coach of the Year in football and he was honored at the annual ACC Football Banquet in Atlanta. Mark Bernardino was named the ACC’s Coach of the Year for both the men’s and women’s swimming programs; we recently held a 25th Year Anniversary Banquet in Coach Bernardino’s honor with over 300 people attending.
I agree with our fans that feel Coach Brian Boland has done a great job in his short time at UVa and should get both ACC and national recognition for his work with our men’s tennis program.

On the in-state talent that leaves the state of Virginia for other top programs:
David,
Without question, the focus for all of our sports is to keep as many of the top high school stars in the state by attracting them to UVa. Although there are many basketball prospects that leave Virginia, there are many quality student-athletes that remain. It is important that we identify and recruit the best prospects and get them on-grounds to meet the people and see what the program is all about.
I believe our new special events center, planned to open in 2006, will be the most significant thing we can do to demonstrate a full-fledged commitment to our basketball programs. Once completed, I believe we can tell prospects throughout the Commonwealth and nationally, we offer the best; the best in academics, the best conference in college basketball, and the best in facility anywhere in the country.

On the accommodations for railings in the new special events center:
Don,
The new special events center will fully comply with ADA specifications for a facility of its type. Generally, the areas of a facility that require handrails are the higher seating areas.
