Men’s Golf Currently In Sixth at ACC Championship

New London, N.C. – The Virginia men’s golf team is currently in sixth at the ACC Championship on Friday.

The University of North Carolina finished as the top team with a 290, 2 over par. Wake Forest shot 5 over with a 293 to finish second, while Clemson finished third by one shot with a 294. The Cavaliers shot a 310 (+22).

Individually, Wake Forest’s Bill Haas fired a 69 (-3) to finish in first. UNC’s Dustin Bray followed behind in second with a score of 71 (-1). Five golfers are tied for third at even par with a 72.

Cavalier freshman Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and Junior Jeremy Luce (Austin, Texas) are currently tied in 16th with a 76, 4 over. Senior Justin Goodhue (Glastonbury, Conn.) follows only one shot behind with a 77 to place in 22nd, while freshman Eamonn McLoughlin (Amityville, N.Y.) had an 81 (+9) to place 39th. Freshman Dan Gabel (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) is in 42nd with a score of 85 (+13).

The Cavaliers will play the 2nd round on April 19 and the final round on April 20 at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C.
