Former Virginia Cavalier, Jim Dombrowski, is being inducted this fall into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame. A first-round pick out of Virginia, Dombrowski was a member of the Saints from 1986-96, and played in a record 147 consecutive games.
Dombrowski got his start at Virginia where he patrolled the offensive line from 1982 to 1985. Twice he earned the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, recognizing him as the best blocker in the ACC and he was Virginia’s first ever unanimous All-American. While at Virginia, he helped the team to three straight winning seasons as well as a victory at the 1984 Peach Bowl. The four-year starter was only the fifth Cavalier to have his number retired. In 1986 the New Orleans Saints selected him in the first round of the NFL draft.
After 11 years in the NFL, Dombrowski now works as a financial planner in Louisiana. When not working, he devotes most of his time to his wife and three children.
