Charlottesville, Va. – University of Virginia football fans have several upcoming opportunities to acquaint themselves with the 2003 Cavaliers with several open practices, as well as the annual “Meet the Team” event.
Head coach Al Groh, his staff and team open training camp on Wednesday (Aug. 6) at the practice fields adjacent to the McCue Center. Practice that day is scheduled for 2:20 p.m. and is open to fans. That is the first of six open practices during training camp. The complete list of open practices is below.
The annual “Meet the Team” event will be held Thursday, Aug. 14 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at the Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium.
The East Gate opens at 3:30 p.m. and free parking is available in the East and South lots beginning at 3 p.m. Posters and schedules will be distributed at the gate. Activities will include an autograph session with the players, a football uniform try-on station, and photo opportunities with UVa football player cutouts. The Virginia Horse and Cavalier will also be present for photos and interaction. Admission is free and concessions will be available.

Wednesday, Aug. 6–2:20 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 7–6:45 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 8–2:20 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 9–2:20 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 10–2:20 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 11–9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Fans attending any of the teams open practices must obtain an admission credential at the McCue Center reception desk. If no one is at the reception desk, go to the designated gate at the practice field to pick up a pass. Fans are asked to remain in the designated bleacher seating to the left inside the entrance gate. Cameras, video cameras, and cell phones are not permitted at practice.
