GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia women’s basketball team will appear in at least eight televised game during the 2003-04 season, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers, which finished last season at 17-14 with a 20th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, will host Florida State in a nationally televised game on ESPN2 on Sunday, Feb. 22.
Virginia will also appear in seven games televised by the Regional Sports Network (Comcast Sports Net, Fox Sports Net South, Sunshine Network) as part of the ACC Game of the Week package.
UVa opens the 2003-04 campaign at home with UNC Greensboro on Nov. 21. Other non-conference opponents include Virginia Tech, Long Island, St. Joseph’s (Pa.), Wagner, Radford, and Georgetown.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Cavaliers will travel to Hawaii’s Rainbow Wahine Classic, facing Arizona in the opening round. UVa will also host its own Cavalier Classic on Dec. 28-29 with Temple, Minnesota and Georgia State. The tourney bracket and game times have not been determined.
On January 2, Virginia opens ACC play at home with Clemson. The 27th Annual ACC Women?s Basketball Tournament tips off March 5-8 at the Greensboro (N.C.) Coliseum.

Fans can get a preview of the 2004 Cavaliers as the team will play a home exhibition contest against the Premier Players on Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at University Hall.
