CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team will face Temple in the opening round of its own Cavalier Classic, school officials announced on Thursday.
The first game is slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28. Georgia State will take on Minnesota in the other game, tipping at 4:30 p.m.
Action continues on Monday, Dec. 29 with the Third Place game at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Championship game at 7 p.m. All games will be played at University Hall.
The Virginia-Temple match-up pits head coach Debbie Ryan against Temple’s Dawn Staley, a former UVa All-American. The game is the first as rival coaches between the duo.
The Cavaliers tip off in the season opener on Nov. 21 at home with UNC Greensboro at 7:30 p.m.
