CHARLOTTESVILLE – Fans attending home football games at the University of Virginia this fall might find parking more difficult in the University Hall area due to construction of the John Paul Jones Arena. The new Ivy/Emmet parking facility will help the situation if it is available as expected after the first four home games. Other parking options are available for all six home games, including:

*Hospital South Garage – 15 minute walk to the stadium, corner of 15th and Crispell streets (near McLeod Hall), about 400 spaces will be available. Parking is $10 per game or $36 for a season pass.

*Downtown Charlottesville parking facilities – Market and Water streets. The cost is $3 for each of the first four home games, and the last two games are free. Parking for the season is $12. Round-trip shuttles are available for $2. The shuttles pick up passengers at any bus stop around the downtown mall and drop them off on McCormick Road, one block from the stadium.

Virginia’s 2003 football season begins on Saturday (August 30) with a home game against Duke (7:00 p.m.). Other home games on the 2003 schedule include Wake Forest (Sept. 27), Florida State (Oct. 18), Troy State (Oct. 25, 3:00 p.m.), Georgia Tech (Nov. 22) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 29).
