Today’s Game: The Cavaliers open the conference season today as they visit NC State in the ACC opener for both teams. Virginia enters the match on a four match win streak after winning the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic and the Dartmouth adidas/Hyperthem Tournament over the past two weeks. NC State is looking to rebound from a 1-0 loss at South Carolina on Sunday. The Wolfpack are 5-2-1 on the season and are receiving votes in the Soccer Buzz Southeast region rankings.

ACC Openers: Today marks the Cavaliers’ start to ACC play, and for the eighth time in the past nine seasons, Virginia starts the conference schedule on the road. Overall, the Cavaliers are 8-7-1 in ACC openers. For the sixth time, Virginia opens ACC play against NC State.

ACC Streak: Virginia enters today’s game on a four-game ACC regular season winning streak. That streak is tied for the longest such streak in school history, as the Cavaliers also won four consecutive conference games in 1994.
