LEXINGTON, KY – The Virginia women’s golf team remained in a tie for fifth place with a two-day total of 638 (+62) after shooting a 320 (+32) in the second round of the Wildcat Fall Invitational.
Freshman Sally Shonk (Nobelsville, Ind.) stood in a tie for tenth after shooting a 78 (+6) in the second round. Freshman Leah Wigger (Louisville, Ky.) jumped into a tie for 14th with a 76 (+4). Freshman Rachel Smith (Powell, Tenn.) shot an 80 (+8) to tie for 17th. Freshman Lindsay Robinson (Huntington, W.V.) added an 87 (+15), as she tied for 70th. Rounding out the scoring is freshman Kira Mayo (Aventura, Fla.), whose 86 (+14) left her tied for 85th.
Vanderbilt and Mississippi State share the overall lead at 623 (+47). UNC-Wilmington is in third with a 628 (+52). Kentucky’s Marissa Muir and Louisville?s Meghan Little are tied for the individual lead at 149 (+5). UNCW’s Amelie Farrah rounded out the top three with a 150 (+6).
Play at the Wildcat Fall Invitational will resume Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the University Club of Kentucky.
