Cavaliers Look to Keep Pace in ACC Race: Virginia hits the midway point of the season with its fourth road game of the season’s first half this Saturday at Clemson’s “Death Valley.” The Cavaliers have moved back into the national rankings- #25 in Associated Press, #24 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll- after winning three consecutive games, including two in convincing fashion.

The Cavaliers can run their ACC record to 4-0 with a win over the Tigers and keep pace with Florida State atop the conference standings.

Virginia seeks to go 4-0 in the league for the first time since 1995. That season the Cavaliers claimed the league title with a 7-1 conference mark that included a 33-28 win over Florida State.

The offense has been in high gear the last two games with the return of Heisman Trophy candidate QB Matt Schaub. Virginia is averaging 32.5 points and 496 yards of offense in that span.

Clemson had its three-game winning streak snapped Saturday following a 21-7 loss at Maryland. The Tigers are 1-1 in the league, including a 39-3 trouncing of Georgia Tech in Atlanta two weeks ago.

TELEVISION: Saturday’s game is being televised on the Jefferson Pilot ACC football network. Steve Martin calls the play-by-play, while Rick “Doc” Walker provides the color commentary. Mike Hogewood is the sideline reporter.

RADIO: All Virginia games are broadcast on the Virginia Sports Network, originating at WINA/WWWV in Charlottesville. Mac McDonald calls the play-by-play. He is joined in the broadcast booth by former Cavalier great Frank Quayle, the 1968 ACC Player of the Year. Jed Williams reports from the sidelines.
