CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia volleyball team begins a four-match Atlantic Coast Conference homestand Tuesday night (October 7) against North Carolina. UVa plays host to the Tar Heels at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Gym. Admission is free of charge.
The Cavaliers, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Melissa Aldrich Shelton, stand at 17-3 overall and 1-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. UVa is coming off a pair of conference road losses this past weekend. Virginia fell to Clemson 3-1 and 3-0 to fifth-ranked and undefeated Georgia Tech. North Carolina is 12-5 overall and 3-1 in the ACC. The Tar Heels are coming off a 3-0 win over N.C. State on October 2.
The North Carolina match is the first of four consecutive home matches for the Cavaliers. After Tuesday’s contest, UVa hosts Florida State on Friday night (October 10) at 7:00 p.m. and N.C. State on Saturday (October 11) at 5:00 p.m. The Cavaliers conclude their homestand on Friday, October 17 when they host Maryland at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Gym.
