CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia volleyball team will continue its four-match homestand by hosting Atlantic Coast Conference rivals Florida State and N.C. State this weekend at Memorial Gym. UVa will play Florida State Friday night (October 10) at 7:00 p.m. and then close out the weekend with a 5:00 p.m. match Saturday (October 11) against the Wolfpack. Admission is free of charge.
The Cavaliers, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Melissa Aldrich Shelton, stand at 17-4 overall and 1-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. UVa has lost its last three matches and is coming off a 3-0 loss to North Carolina on Tuesday (October 7). The setback to the Tar Heels began Virginia’s current homestand.
The Seminoles stand at 9-7 overall and 1-3 in the ACC. Florida State has dropped its last three matches, including a 3-1 decision to Wake Forest on October 4. N.C. State stands at 6-12 overall and 0-5 in the ACC. The Wolfpack have lost its last five matches and is coming off a 3-0 loss at Maryland on October 7.
The Cavaliers will conclude their homestand on Friday, October 17 when they host Maryland at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Gym.
