CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia volleyball team will wrap up its four-match homestand Friday night (October 17) with a 7:00 p.m. contest against Atlantic Coast Conference rival Maryland at Memorial Gym. Admission is free of charge.
The Cavaliers, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Melissa Aldrich Shelton, stand at 19-4 overall and 3-4 in the ACC. UVa is coming off a pair of 3-1 wins over Florida State and N.C. State last weekend. Virginia is 2-1 during its current homestand and 7-2 at home in Memorial Gym this season.
Maryland is 17-4 overall and in second place in the ACC standings with a 6-1 league mark. The Terrapins are on a four-match winning streak, including a 3-0 win over North Carolina on October 12 in their last outing.
