NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The University of Virginia women’s tennis team closed out play at the Old Point Invitational Sunday in Newport News by taking home one singles and two doubles titles. First-year Caroline Hammond (Williamsburg, Va.) led the charge by winning both a singles and doubles title.In singles Flight B-1, Hammond won her second individual title of the spring as she topped Danielle Moita of Winthrop in straight sets. In doubles play, the Cavaliers took two titles.

In Flight A-1, the team of Lauren Bruch (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Mariko Fritz-Krockow (Fairfax, Va.) won the title with a 8-5 win over Nataly Cahana and Kerstin Endlich of Old Dominion. Hammond and Dora Bechliwanis (Etobicoke, Ont.) took home the Flight C-1 crown with a 8-3 win over Old Dominion’s Coralie Hermann and Fernanda Luiz.
