CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia travels to No. 4 Duke on Thursday, Feb. 19 for a 7 p.m. contest. Virginia’s next home game is Sunday, Feb. 22 against Florida State at 4 p.m. in University Hall. In celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, all girls aged 18-and-under will be admitted to the game FREE!
The No. 4 Blue Devils, under the guidance of 12th-year head coach Gail Goestenkors, stand 20-3 overall and 11-1 in ACC play after a 89-79 win at No. 15/14 North Carolina. Senior Alana Beard is the top scorer with 19.5 ppg, while Monique Currie adds 12.5 ppg.
The Seminoles, under the guidance of seventh-year head coach Sue Semrau, stand 13-11 overall and 6-7 in the ACC after a 67-54 win over Wake Forest. Tasheika Allen is the team scoring leader with 13.6 pp, while Shante Williams adds 10.7 ppg. Florida State visits NC State on Feb. 19 prior to traveling to Charlottesville.
Virginia, under the guidance of 27th-year head coach Debbie Ryan, stands 12-12 overall and 5-7 in the ACC. Junior Brandi Teamer is the Cavalier leader with 12.1 points per game. Junior LaTonya Blue follows with 9.9 ppg and a team-best 5.8 rpg.
