Virginia vs. Princeton Game in Charlottesville Regional Postponed Until Saturday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The NCAA Division I Baseball Championship contest tonight between the Virginia Cavaliers (42-13) and the Princeton Tigers (27-18) has been postponed due to heavy rain in the Charlottesville area. The game did not have a first pitch and was postponed before its start. The contest has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at Davenport Field at the UVa Baseball Stadium. The game was originally scheduled to be played at 7:00 PM tonight before the starting time was pushed back following a three-hour rain delay. The contest was finally postponed at approximately 9:45 PM tonight.

The change in the date and time of tonight’s contest between Virginia and Princeton will also alter the starting times of two contests on Saturday. Game 3, originally scheduled for 11:00 AM, is now scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday. That contest will feature George Mason (the losing team of the first game played today) against the losing team in the Virginia vs. Princeton contest. Game 4, originally scheduled for 3:00 PM, is now scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday. That contest will feature Vanderbilt (the winner of today’s first game) against the winner of the Virginia vs. Princeton contest.

Game 5, which was originally scheduled for 7:00 PM on Saturday, has not yet been rescheduled at this time.
