Starting Times for Two Home Football Games Announced

Charlottesville, Va. – Starting times for the University of Virginia’s first two home games of the season have been announced.

The Cavaliers host North Carolina in their home opener at the Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium on Sept. 11 in a contest slated to kickoff at 3:30 pm. The game will be televised by ABC.

UVa’s annual Homecoming football game against Akron on Sept. 18 is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. This game will not be televised.

Tickets for the Akron game are $25 each and are available through the UVa Athletic Ticket Office. Season tickets are also on sale. Ticket orders can be placed by calling the Ticket Office at 800/542-8821 or 434/924-8821 or ordered on-line at virginiasports.com.

Starting times for two other games were announced previously. The 2004 season opener against Temple on Sept. 4 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia will kickoff at noon. The game will be televised live by ESPN2.

The Cavaliers’ Thursday night home game against Clemson on Oct. 7 is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and be televised by ESPN.

Game times for Virginia’s remaining games will be announced at a later time.
