CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2004-05 women’s basketball schedule on Thursday.
Virginia opens conference play at Wake Forest of Jan. 6. With the additions of Virginia Tech and Miami to the conference this season, all schools will play 14 league games. UVa will play intra-state rival Virginia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, and Wake Forest twice (home and away).
The Cavaliers will visit Georgia Tech, Florida State, and NC State while hosting Duke, Clemson, Miami for the teams’ only regular-season meeting.
Virginia will make at least six television appearances. Appearing on the Regional Sports Network (Fox Sports Net South , HTS, Sunshine Network) five times, UVa will face Georgia Tech (Jan. 10), Duke (Jan. 14), Clemson (Jan. 16), Virginia Tech (Jan. 28), and North Carolina (Feb. 7). Additionally, the Cavaliers host Maryland (Feb. 20) in a nationally televised contest on ESPN2.
The 2005 ACC Tournament is slated for March 4-7 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.
