ATHENS, Greece – Rising second-year Virginia swimmer Vanja Rogulj (Zagreb, Croatia/Split) finished 37th in the preliminaries of the 200-meter breaststroke Tuesday (August 16) at the 2004 Olympic Games. Rogulj is competing for Croatia in the Olympic Games. The swimming competition is being held at the Olympic Aquatic Centre.
Rogulj, the 2004 ACC Men’s Rookie of the Year, posted a time of 2:18.81 in finishing 37th overall in the 200 breast. He was seventh in the third heat. The top 16 finishers in the prelims advanced to the semifinals.
On Saturday at the Olympic Games, Rogulj was 26th in the prelims of the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:03.16.
It marked second time Rogulj has represented Croatia in the Olympic Games as he also competed in the 2000 Games in Sydney.
