CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia men’s soccer team will compete in the 2004 Blue/Orange Exhibition on Saturday, August 21st at 7:00 PM. The match will be held at UVa’s Klöckner Stadium. The Blue/Orange event is an intrasquad scrimmage featuring two teams made up of member of the 2004 Virginia men’s soccer squad. The roster will be divided in half to feature the Blue Team and the Orange Team.
Admission to the Blue/Orange Exhibition is free. The UVa coaching staff will also conduct a free pregame clinic for kids from 5:00PM-6:00PM before the Blue/Orange Exhibition contest. Shortly after the conclusion of the exhibition match, members of the UVa men’s soccer team will be available to sign autographs. The Cavaliers will also be on-hand for the annual Meet The Team Day which will be held on Tuesday, August 24th at 6:30 PM at Klöckner Stadium. Both the men’s and women’s UVa soccer programs will be in attendance for the event.
The Blue/Orange Exhibition is the Cavaliers’ first tune-up competition of the preseason. Virginia will also face the South Carolina Gamecocks in its second and final exhibition contest of the preseason. The Cavaliers will travel to Columbia, S.C. to face the Gamecocks on Thursday, August 26th at 7:00 PM. UVa will kick-off the regular season portion of its schedule by hosting the 2004 Virginia Soccer Classic on September 3rd and 5th at Klöckner Stadium.
