Story Links
Sept. 1, 2004
Virginia’s Mia Link was named to the national honor roll by womensfieldhockey.com, recognizing her for her performance last week as the Cavaliers opened the 2004 campaign with a pair of victories at home. Link scored four goals and added two assists as Virginia defeated Bucknell 8-2 to open the weekend, and then added two goals in a 3-0 defeat of Appalachian State. Link’s 10 points in the Bucknell game are the second-highest single game total in school history, second only to Cindy Carzo’s 14 (7g) against Goucher in 1976.
Link leads the Cavaliers with six goals and two assists for 14 points, eclipsing her total from her rookie season in 2003.
Virginia faces defending Big 10 champion Michigan State on Sunday, Sep. 5 at 1:00 before taking on Miami on Monday, Sep. 6 at 5:00. Both games will take place at University Hall Turf Field.
