CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia women’s soccer player Jamie Fabrizio (Carmel, Ind.) was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week. The fourth-year defender was honored for her play in two Cavalier wins last week.
Fabrizio and the rest of the Cavaliers posted two more shutouts last week, downing Liberty 5-0 and No. 21 West Virginia 1-0. She also scored a goal in the win over Liberty. The honor from Soccer America is the first of her career and the first for a Cavalier this season.
The Cavaliers host the 2004 Virginia Nike Soccer Classic this weekend at Klöckner Stadium. On Friday, the Cavaliers host No. 8 UCLA at 7:00 p.m. following the Maryland-South Carolina game at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Cavaliers play South Carolina at 2:30 p.m. with UCLA and Maryland meeting at noon in the day’s first game.
