CHARLOTTESVILLE – Fourth year forward Lindsay Gusick (Livonia, Mich.) was named the ACC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week after helping the Cavaliers to wins over No. 8 UCLA and South Carolina to capture the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic title this past weekend.

Gusick scored twice in the Cavaliers’ 3-1 win over the Bruins on Friday night and added a goal and assist in Virginia’s 5-2 win over the Gamecocks on Sunday. She now has five goals and an assist on the season, as her 11 points are second on the team.

Her three goals and seven points this past weekend continued Gusick’s climb in the Cavalier career record. She now has 32 career goals (seventh all-time) and 81 career points (sixth all-time).

This is the second ACC player of the Week honor of Gusick’s career, as she was also honored in 2001.

Gusick and the No. 5 ranked Cavaliers (6-0-0) look to continue their strong start as they travel to Williamsburg this weekend for the W&M Nike Tribe Invitational. Virginia plays George Mason at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and host William & Mary at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
