Friday’s opponent, the George Mason Patriots, are 2-3-1 on the season after splitting their two matches at the George Mason/Burger King Invitational. The Patriots defeated Georgetown on Sunday after falling to Harvard on Friday.
In the Polls: Virginia are currently ranked No. 3 by Soccer America, Soccer Times, and Soccer Buzz and No. 4 by the NSCAA. In addition, the Cavaliers are ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by both Soccer Buzz and the NSCAA.
Strong Start: Virginia’s 6-0-0 record is the team’s second best start to a season in school history. The best start was a 16-0-0 record to the 1990 season. The Cavaliers are one of 12 remaining Division I schools to be undefeated and untied this season.
