CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia tight end Heath Miller (Swords Creek, Va.) earned ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday.
After having no passes thrown to him a week ago, Miller more than made up for that in the 51-0 thumping of Akron on Saturday. He was the game’s leading receiver with six catches for 54 yards and two touchdowns. The tight end put UVa on the scoreboard first with a 16-yard catch. Miller added a second touchdown in the second quarter, marking his second career two-TD game. Miller was also a factor in the running game with his blocking. The junior was at the point of attack for most of UVa’s 326 yards rushing, its best output in six years. UVa compiled 522 yards of offense, the third game in a row over 500 yards.
The ACC honor is the fourth in Miller’s UVa career and first this season.
Virginia (3-0) hosts Syracuse (2-1) in the team?s final non-conference game on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m.
